April Archived Updates
4:29:2002 - Monday
Well, I started My corporate Page. check it out, the link is on the homepage. I'm keeping that
really basic, as you'll probably see. I spent a hell of a lot of time on the graphics. A hell of a lot.
Probably 5 hours at least just working on them, probably more. I made them all up, and put it all together,
then I asked little beaks about it, and it was just too much like the "x-box" logo. You know, the video
game thing. They were pretty cool though, So I had to redo them all, from Green to Blue I changed it.
I made up my business cards already too, those also, have the green. I love how it looks, but it really looks
like I just ripped off Microsoft on the X-Box. Well, whatever, I think they are still pretty cool. Here is
my logo.
Here's my blue one
and here is X-box
Cool logo for me huh? Yeah, I'm kinda proud of my business cards. I made them with a black background, they stand out
more and are definitely more unique, and now I think I have to get a new black printer cartridge. Fuck, those
things are expensive, and definitely not worth the 10 cards I made up. Well, it doesn't help that I printed my
63 pages of my music library too. Oh well, it's just money.
I got some new good ideas for the webpage courtesy of Eric VanDrisse. Yeah, I know, more projects. It's
hard to sit down and work on my corporate page, because that isn't as much fun as this page is, but it must
be done. So that combined with I'm trying to do a bunch of little design things I haven't done before, it's slow
going, learning all the new processes.
Now, I know my spelling and grammar isn't great on these pages. You know, stuff where I am typing too fast and don't
want to go back just to re-arrange two letters. That's ok, it's just a personal page, you can let those go, right?
Good, if i do make a bad spelling error though, save me some embarrasement and send me an email. It's so easy. Yeah,
I'm in love with getting emails obviously. It's probably just reassurance that people are looking at this website.
I wouldn't be working on it if people didn't look at it, so I appreciate your visit to this page. Because if you
are here, then obviously you are curious to see what I did new. That, or you are just really bored and love hearing
me talk!!! No, that's probably not the case.
I do such a good job with my source code. It's because I'm constantly updating. I have to keep things really
organized so I know right where to go when I'm working. When I'm browsing sites trying to get quotes, or just to
find out some new ideas or figure out how to do something, I'll open up their source code. Fuck people, keep that
a little organized. You can see how organized I am by clicking the view button at the top of your browser, and
selecting 'source'. A notepad file with open up, and you'll see exactly what I have to type to get this page working
the way it does. Some pages, like this one, being all straightforward text, is really basic, but other ones are
really complex. My homepage for instance. It seems so basic, the whole thing shows up in your browser without having
to scroll to anything, but the source is pretty long. Anyhow, that's probably kinda boring talk.
I'm not too tired, even though I only slept three hours yesterday, so I'm sure I'll work on one of the pages, and
talk about it to way too much detail next time I write here. Yeah, I know, my update page is way to long.
Oh yeah, and my little entry below, I gave up on that. On my corporate page, you'll see that table I put to
the left, I was goign to do that with all my pages here, but that's just a lot more graphics, and a lot more time.
One last thing, does my webpage really take a long time to load. I've had a few comments about the pictures
taking some time to load. I'll write up a guestbook code one of these days, and that'll be nice for comments like this.
I could do a CGI script, but I don't like those becaues I have to go to another website to check them, and
damn pop-up ads come up too, and I don't believe in that.
4:28:2002 - Sunday
Did a few updates, nothing significant. I'm working on a big project, overhauling a few pages to make
the webpage quicker, more readable, stuff like that. We'll see if i can get it figured out without doing too
much work.
4:26:2002 - Friday
Alright, I'm bored now, I've read enough, it's time to work on the site a little!
I did a little page on my father, so you should check that out. It's cool, I could write so much, but
I want to keep it readable. I hate pages will all kinds of text, and it's so damned time consuming to
put all kinds of images and graphics, so I'll save all that for the end, when there isn't much to do.
I have probably 80% of the links up now. Most of them are nothing. I just wanted to get the backgrounds
set, and just started a bit, because I really don't like starting the pages. Now I can just open them up,
and add stuff to them, so it'll be a lot less of a headache for me, starting everything from complete
scratch. I had a bunch of stuff done before I even put a lot of these pages up, but I basically started everything
over once I started publishing to the web. I've learned so much in this time, it makes about a solid week of work
completely pointless. But anyway, bear with me, eventually everything will be looking good. Roadrunner isn't going to shut this page down
anytime soon, probably as long as I have this account with them, I'll have the webpage, so that's cool.
I've got all these pages saved to my hard drive, so they aren't going anywhere either, that's a nice thought.
When I did a page with Geocites, I finished it and didn't touch it for a month, and they took it done. I didn't
have anything saved to a hard copy, so that's gone. All that time and effort, when I was supposed to be studying.
I don't worry about any of that now, because I'm backing everything up, so the pages will always be here
(assuming I don't crash my hard drive and time warner goes down, I'll always have pretty much everything.
So this page is much more extensive than anything I've ever worked on before.
I decided to forego getting a host and moving this site over to them. I'll always keep this on a free server,
assuming I can get the space. When I do get a host, I'll put a 'corporate site up' and of course, link the two.
It will be nice to get my business going too, but everytime I work on the stuff I'm trying to put together, it
seems I always need something. It's also time to get some sort of job, which will cut into my studying time,
which will cut into my webpage time too, so that's not cool. But I will always try to get at least two hours of
work in a week on this. However, on that pace, I should be done in about a year. Yeesh, I could spend less
time typing up these updates, but I don't have to be thinking creatively about these, so that's cool. Anyway,
if you are reading this now, take some time to let me know what you think of what I've done. I love hearing how
you like my new page(s), so it doesnt take long, just click my email link and let me know.
Here's One: It's as easy as this!
Also, if you see anything that isn't working like you think it should, please email me. I am
usually pretty good at finding most things, but if you run across a picture that isn't working,
please tell me. Thanks, and have a great day of course.
4:23:2002 - Tuesday
Wow, it's hard to think I haven't done anythign in almost a week. Yeesh! Sorry about that, I've been studying hard
lately though, so at least I'm doing stuff to keep me going, and better my future, or whatever...
Updated the Jamie page. It's not done at all, but there is a bit of interesting stuff on there. You people
really need to change your resolution if you haven't already. There is no excuse to be viewing at 800x600. Unless you
can't see the screen, which is probably acceptable. Seriously though, the higher your resolution, the better this
web page looks. I edit it at 1280x1024, it's just way easier to do it, so the pages look really good at that. Then I
have to go and change everything because most people are going to be at 800x600. Which SUCKS!! So you should
change up, make it a higher number, and get used to it. You'll like having all that extra space on your screen too,
so it's not just for my webpage, but every page will look better.
Here is how you change it.
Right click on the desktop, go down to 'properties' and click that.
that will bring up a fun little screen that you can change your background, screen saver, stuff like that.
You want to click "settings"
See where it says 'screen resolution'? Yeah, change that. I suggest 1152x864. It's similar to the one you probably
have already, but you can just see more stuff! So get used to that, and then send me an email thanking me. That's all.
It just sucks to get everything looking good, and then have to change it. I suppose that's web design though.
but it's just as beneficial to you, as it is to me. Great, have a great day!!
4:17:2002 - Wednesday
Ok, some of the pages are pretty much done. My intro page is, the arizona page is pretty much done.
My reverand page... credits page... those are all done. I'll fix up the life story page, and the family page soon.
It's a lot of damn work to finish up some of these pages. Most seem like they will never be done. I just purchased
and additional 5 MB of space from roadrunner, for 5 bucks. You know, I want to be able to put all the pictures on here.
Look at it though. I really have to come up with about 20 different ideas. I want each page to be unique and all that.
It's fun as hell, but I can only do so much in a short amount of time. The demanding pages are going to be the following:
All About Heath
All About Jaime
The Family Page
The Relationship Page
I used to have a question of the week thing going, and a quote thing too on my last site, but I'll have to wait and see if
I can develop some sort of following with this page first. Those were excellent though.
Those are going to have to be the bread and butter of this site. That's what is going to put it over the top. The
few people that are looking at this now... I'm sure you are just waiting for that page. And not patiently knowing
your personalities. I do have some work on them, but I'm putting the pressure on myself, and those won't be up
until they are %100 done. Anyway, I hope you like how it's coming so far.
I'm going to get my business webpage up today too. At least, set up with my host and get all the software registered.
I'm just using all this stuff on the free evaluation basis right now, so that's probably another 200 bucks. Money well spent
if you ask me.
Until tomorrow...
P.s. You think I should take down the scrolling text.
I have a lot of fun moving the letters around though...
4:17:2002 - Wednesday
I took all the links down today. I'll upload them as the pages get done.
I spent a good amount of time on the 'feedback-survey' page today, so you should check that out.
As of right now, the family page is up a little bit, just the thumbnails and the table is done.
More to come on that later.
I'll keep this page and the Diary up all the time, and I'll update those
as we go along. Just something to keep the few vistors that come by something to look at.
Actually, i think it's just my brothers that have been here so far. I should put a counter, but
that only checks IP addresses, not users, so I could think I've had a bunch of people here, when it's
just mainly me working on it. Oh Well. Hope the day finds you well!!
4:16:2002 - Tuesday
Ok, yeah, I haven't been keeping up with this page, but it's mainly for when I'm done with the
site, so people know what's new, etc. I'll even add a little 'new' button for ya!.
But, the layout is done on the homepage. Look good? I like it. I've made it so everyone
can see it well thanks to Matt. Other than that, I just wanted to get some more done for you. The links will be popping
up here and there as the week goes on.
Sunday would be the day to check it out.
I should have a good amount of time to work on it this weekend.
I'll keep you updated.
4:11:2002 - Thursday
Ok, this site has been up for a few weeks now, but I'm actually doing some good work on it now.
Obviously not all of the links are going to work.
You can see I do have a major
project on my hands.
I'll have more ideas and more work done soon, so I'll appreciate a return visit!
Most of the links have a ways to go, you know, more effects, stuff like that. I'm writing a few javascript
programs right now, so you'll see those in a bit.
Also, Pictures take a long time to edit, so there is work to be done there as well. The links are basically generic, just something that's working. The pictures you don't see
on the home page, that's my fault. You'll see stuff in there within the next coming weeks. I'm not expecting a
great response right now, so don't demand a great website. (Most of you should have high expectations from me.)
Don't worry, I'll come through and then some.
